As businesses around Australia and the globe roll out mandatory remote working arrangements due to COVID19, many of us find ourselves having to create a "home office" space. Whether it's in your study, dinning area or hallway here are some of my top tips for setting yourself up for success from a spacial design and productivity perspective.
Let there be light:
Choose a space in your home with lots of natural light. My favourite spot is the top of my staircase, it's just this small but long hallway nook with a window which faces out to the street and lets in the morning sun and just adds warmth and light though out the whole house.
Dedicated Zone:
Not all of us as fortunate enough to to have a dedicated room for a home office so segregate that spot in your home as your “working zone” even if it’s just a laptop desk, position it to isolate that space to clearly section out that area.
Take a seat:
Make sure your chair is comfortable! Using the wooden dinning chair? Add a cushion for extra comfort.
Feng Shui the shit out of your space:
Really important: make that space a place you would enjoy spending time in, dress up your desk or space with a pot plant or frame an inspirational quote and leave it at the desk to keep you going!
